Vocal Cord Paralysis Secondary to Carotid Artery Dissection: A Case Report

Background and Objective: Vocal cord paralysis results in impairment of breathing and/or speech. One the causes vocal is disruption vagus nerve innervation to cords by mass effect a neighbouring structure. We report rare case secondary internal carotid artery dissection. Method: The diagnosis was based on clinical history, physical examination imaging studies. Literature review done. Case Report: This 53-year-old female with history unremitting, progressive hoarseness mild dysphagia liquid, who clinically found have impaired left mobility, left-sided pulsatile neck dissection Symptoms abated after conservative treatment Aspirin she has remained symptom free since two years follow-up. Conclusion: can be consequence causing nerve. Thus, should not forgotten as possible cause some cases uncertain etiology. Treatment anti-platelet drug bring about resolution symptoms return mobility.
